The Turkish Bath Ritual
A traditional Turkish hammam — the original Turkish bath — is one of the oldest bathing rituals in the world, and one of the most complete.
Using antibacterial marble rooms with heated platforms, the experience begins with heat to open pores, followed by a kese or sea salt exfoliation to slough away dead skin, and a traditional foam massage that leaves the body deeply cleansed and the mind completely at rest.
At Carisma Spa, every hammam session includes complimentary access to the full spa leisure facilities — pools, saunas, steam rooms, and jacuzzis. It is the closest thing to a complete reset.

The heated marble platform gently raises your body temperature, opening pores and preparing skin for deep cleansing. Hot water relaxes muscles and signals the nervous system to rest.
A traditional kese mitt or mineral-rich sea salt removes dead skin cells, revealing the fresh, luminous skin underneath. Circulation improves and the body is primed for the foam massage.
Rich, fragrant foam is worked across the body using long, nurturing strokes. The foam massage cleanses, softens, and leaves skin silky smooth — a sensory experience unlike any other.

A Turkish hammam, also spelled hamam, is our hammam spa ritual, offered at three of our seven spas. A traditional hammam experience at Carisma Spa uses antibacterial marble rooms with heated platforms. The treatment involves hot water to open pores, salt or kese scrubbing for exfoliation, and foam massage with soap. Complimentary spa leisure facilities access is included with any hammam treatment.
Hammam treatments at Carisma Spa in Malta start from €59€65€65€59 for a 30-minute express session (Face & Body Mask, Turkish Foam Massage, or Sea Salt Exfoliation). Full hammam rituals start from €99€109€109€99 (55 minutes) and go up to €159 for premium packages combining exfoliation, foam massage, and additional therapies.
